On March 20, 2008, CalRecycle issued a notice of violation for “Refuse Remediation” due to an overflowing contaminants at a Chiquita Canyon Landfill trash container. Contaminated trash was also observed on the ground, not properly quartered off from the rest of the refuse. This condition will allow for non-acceptable items to be taken into the landfill.
On September 13, 2007, CalRecycle issued a citation for “Litter Control” due to accumulated trash along the landfill perimeter fences. In addition, trash was mixed with alternative daily cover.
On July 24, 2006, CalRecycle issued a citation for “Site Maintenance” due to an unkempt primary canyon area at the Chiquita Canyon Landfill. Inspector noted approximately 1,000 “trash containers stacked all over the area and around landfill daily equipment operations.”
Notations Regarding Litter and Trash:
On January 12, 2011, CalRecycle noted on their inspection report that “litter was observed on slopes and on areas outside the disposal area.
On January 15, 2009, CalRecycle noted on their inspection report that “litter was observed on slopes and on areas outside the disposal area.”
On March 29, 2007, CalRecycle noted on their inspection report that “litter (was) strewn along slopes at exit road from working area.”
